TOPIC: WHAT KEEPS US FROM SERVING OTHERS? (3)
TEXT: Matthew 22:5 “But they made light of it and went their
ways, one to his own farm, another to his business…”
INDIFFERENCE. It is an instance, when one is not interested
in caring for another.’ When it comes to communicating, that
could be said of many of us; we’re indifferent to how we
come across people especially in the household of faith. We
may not necessarily feel superior to others, but we don’t go
out of our way to get to them either. Why? It’s hard work! In
reality, indifference is another form of selfishness that keeps
you from connecting with people.
Try to care for what is best in thought and action- Something
that is good apart from the accidents of your own lot. Care
about people’s lives besides your own. See what their
troubles are, and how they are borne.
Paul writes, ‘Be kindly, affectionate to one another with
brotherly Love, in honour giving preference to on another’ (Romans 12:10 NKJV).
Isaiah said, ‘The Lord God has given me the tongue of the
learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season
to him who is weary….’ (Isaiah 50:4 NKJV). You and I must be
devoted to one another as brothers and sisters. Most
importantly, by His grace be eager to respect and honour
the good qualities in other believers.
