TOPIC: WHAT IS ON YOUR HEART?
TEXT: HEBREWS 8:10 “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:..”

Many of us have been taught that we cannot trust our hearts. We quote verses like “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked…” (Jeremiah 17:9), not knowing that Jeremiah was referring to the man who had not received Jesus as His Lord and Saviour. Let us recall a brief preamble of what the heart implies. Prov. 27:19 says a man’s heart reveals a man .Also the heart is the seat of all affections and 1 Sam. 16:7 validates the extinction of the Old Covenant. At the New birth, the law of the New Covenant- the law of the Spirit of grace; the Holy Spirit is put in our minds and written on our hearts. In other words, we are now the temple of the living God; a relationship with us is been established by God indicating all will know Him rather than having us to be taught the intricacies of the law- the continual sacrifices of animals for sins atonement anymore. A lot of people would sometime say, I don’t know what I should do with my life. ”Then, What is on your heart?” Others would say, “I would love to work with children.” “Really I am waiting on the Lord to tell me to do that.” “Well, He has given you the desire, so go and work among children!”
“Honestly the desire comes from our heart where the Spirit dwells. How do I know if it is of God?” Beloved, once you are saved, you have a brand new heart (Ezek. 36:26), and you can trust the promptings of your heart because God dwells in you and He leads you from within. (1 Jn. 3:20-21) So don’t worry because His promptings will never contradict His Word. It will lead you to good success. Often, you find that when you follow your inner promptings, it is actually God who has put those desires in your mind( soul realm) and written them on your heart. Some years ago, someone approached one of their church leaders and told him, “I really think that you are called to be a full-time pastor.” It turned out to be a confirmation of what he already knew on the inside. You see, God was already leading him from within. Today, he is a full-time pastor serving in the ministry. If you have a witness from God to serve Him and also desire to do it, then go for it! Go with the flow. God Himself says that He will guide us from within. Let’s not doubt Him, and don’t worry about the outcome. Your part is just to follow the flow. God’s part is to work in you- both the willingness and the performance of it! (Phil. 2:13) Beloved, because God has given you a new heart, He will write His desires on it, and as you fulfill these desires, you will bring forth fruit, and not wither and die. Whatever you do will prosper! 2 Cor. 6:16 ”…. For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: I will dwell in them and walk among them…’’
