TOPIC: LIGHT REFLECTORS
TEXT: Luke 11:36 “If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light…..”

The Christians main business is evangelism — that means it is our business. It is important that evangelism remains important. It is important for the countries evangelized and for the countries
evangelizing. When Paul was in Troas, he preached all night. A young man called Eutychus fell out of a window and Paul restored him to life.
We read that” there were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together”. Well, there are many lamps among us now , I trust. ‘The
virgins in the parable Of the bridegroom all had lamps (the same Greek word, lampas) but half Of the lamps had gone out. That does not mean that the lamps were burning slightly. It means that half Of them were not even lit! Matt. 25:1-13 “1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom….2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish….3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:….4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamp….6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him….7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps…….the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut…. 11 Afterward came also the other ten virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us….12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
We cannot be half-alight! We either shine, or we are patches of shadow. I wonder if fifty-fifty is a general average among Christians? Half the virgins were asleep and unprepared. So was Eutchus – and look what happened to him! People who go to sleep on the job, whose lamps have gone out because they had no oil — people like this are bound to fail!
Perhaps that is why we read; “Awake , you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light ” Today is a good day to make sure your life is awake, and prepared for whatever God has for you! Pray that you be light shinning in your world today!
