TOPIC: I DON’T KNOW THE FUTURE, BUT I KNOW WHO HOLDS IT.

FRIDAY 30TH JUNE 2017

TOPIC: I DON’T KNOW THE FUTURE, BUT I KNOW WHO HOLDS IT.
TEXT: Exodus 16:4 “Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not….”

Today’s devotion is based on the key verse in Exodus where God provided for His people in a miraculous way. We read about how the people Of Israel had looked everywhere but “up” for their needs to be met. They’d been slaves to the Egyptians, and after God set them free, they had to fully trust Him for all Of their needs. The slaves were physically free but still mentally enslaved to their habit Of looking for provision from people and things. Where do you usually look for provision, do you look to your job, your husband/wife, to your bank accounts. Or still do
you look to your goals and dreams or relationships. Now God is calling you to look to Him.
In Exodus 16:8 which says, “Then Moses added, ‘The LORD will give you meat to eat in the evening and bread to satisfy you in the morning, for he has heard all your complaints against him. What have we done?
Yes, your complaints are against the LORD, not against us (NLT).
Oh, that’s what many of us have been doing, complaining about your concerns. Today, realize your complaint is not only to your Provider, but against your Provider. The One who had always provided for you in the past, and He would continue to do so in the future, even if you don’t know exactly how. Thank God for reminding you He is your Provider, admitting your need for Him and trust Him as your Jehovah-Jireh from this day forward. You still may not know what the future holds, but you know Who holds your future. He is your Abba Father.
