TOPIC: A BALANCED WORKOUT
TEXT: 1 Timothy 4:8 “For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come….”

Scripture also deals with the issue of the value of getting both physical exercise and spiritual exercise. Yes, our spiritual development will last into eternity but our physical development helps us to be more effective while we are here on earth. We have to take care of our whole being in order to live balanced life and reach our full potential.
Remember, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Are you making time to take care of your temple? Sometimes we make a bigger deal about getting exercise than we need to. You don’t have to get a gym membership or work out for a long time to have benefit. Just start somewhere. Start walking in your neighborhood. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park a little further away from the grocery store. Do whatever you can do to stay active because exercising spiritually and physically is what makes a balanced workout!
There is no doubt that being in shape spiritually is the most important kind of fitness. Of a truth, being in shape physically is very important as well. Some people know the Bible well -they pray often and they know what to do, but they don’t have the physical energy to do anything at all. All three parts of your being physical, emotional and spiritual – should be healthy and in sync for you to function most productively. Your body is the temple of the Most High God, and you must honor Him with it. By God’s help, seek a balance, and stay healthy in Jesus Name Amen. 1 Corinthians 6:20, 3John2
