WORD FOCUS: RADIATE JESUS (2)
TEXT: Acts 4:13 “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus….”
Well, if I’m a Christian, don’t I automatically portray Jesus? No, it doesn’t automatically happen. Radiating Jesus comes from spending time in His presence. I’ve heard about couples married 40 and 50 years who began to look alike. Actually, it’s no wonder because they have lived together so long, sharing the same experiences, climates, food and more. If you have been around a couple like this, you’ll notice they finish each other’s sentences. They tell the same stories and use the same hand gestures because they’ve hung around together so long it shows.
In the same way, I believe that tangible presence of God can be seen on our faces as we leave the presence of God and enter our jobs, our schools, even the grocery stores. I believe that tangible presence of God can be so radiant upon us that people look at us and wonder “What’s different about that man or woman? There’s just something special about that person. You and I will know that the something special we’re radiating is Jesus Himself.
Today you’ve got a good start, but continue spending time in the presence of God. Hang out, chill out with Him. Read and meditate the word. Write down what He speaks to your heart. Pray. Then watch how His tangible presence will change your very countenance.
