WORD FOCUS: POWER IS NEEDED

TEXT:  1 Corinthians 3:10 “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon….”

Even though we don’t deserve His great and awesome power called grace, He gives us His grace as a free gift. In order for us to be able to accomplish the will of God, we must tap into His grace. The Apostle Paul wrote much of the New Testament and laid the fundamental doctrines of the church. He established the government of the Church for us. However, he could not have done this on his own. He had to have supernatural force helping him. That supernatural force was the power of grace: a special endowment to do the task. We are to build on the foundation Paul laid, but we can’t do it under our own power. We can only do this by using the same power that Paul used. That power is Grace. We know faith is equally as important as grace. Ephesians 2:8 says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: “. Faith is the catalyst that activates God’s word, causing what we believe to come to pass. Grace for salvation is always available for the non- Christians – we are saved by grace – but faith contains the belief and the power that activates grace.

As believers, we are to walk by faith and not by sight. We also believe that God has done what He said He will do because we know that it is impossible for God to lie [Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6; 18] in believing and receiving what we have asked for, while we are reaching out in faith, we need a substance on the inside to sustain us while we wait for the outward things to come to pass. That substance, that divine force, is grace. We need to have the grace of God upholding us, energizing and moving in our lives. We must rely on grace, but we cannot back off from our faith and become lazy. Faith must be maintained, nurtured, and strengthened by continuing in the Word daily. So to stay in faith and enjoy the power,  you need to stay in the WORD. Have you taken enough dose of His Word today? Grace is God making a deposit in us of His very own power and ability, draw on that power and ability today.
