WORD FOCUS: OVERCOME OR OVERCOMER
TEXT: 1 John 5:4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith….”

The word of God says we have been made to be overcomers. It does not say we are in the process of overcoming or that we will someday overcome. No! it says that we are overcomers, sometimes we get overwhelmed, and we feel totally overcome and yet who made us overcomers? JESUS. He came to this earth and overcame for us. “…..For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil”.[1 John 3:8b] Then Jesus turned power and authority over to us (Luke 9:1-2). Then He raised us to sit in heavenly places with Him where the devil is under our feet (Eph.1:22; 2:6)

Therefore we walk in victory in every situation. As long as you live in this earth, problems and challenges rise up, don’t lay down so they roll over you. Rise up and use your authority. Cast down imaginations and anything that exalts itself against the name of Jesus (2 Cor. 10:4-5). If we just sit back and say, “what will be , will be”, then we will be overcome. But Jesus has given you authority, He gave you His name and He expects you to use it.
In Romans 8:37 “But, in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through him who loved us.”
1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”
Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
