JUDGEMENT – NOT GOD’S LAST WORD

WORD FOCUS: JUDGEMENT – NOT GOD’S LAST WORD
TEXT: Hosea 1:10a “. Israelites will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or counted……”

Just when it seems that God is about to give up on His people, Hosea receives a new directives from heaven, the deep passion of the Almighty for His bride breaks through these hope-filled words “God still cares”. Things maybe difficult between God and His people but God does not forget His vow and repeats it here with conviction “Judgment is not God’s last word – LOVE IS”. The divine heart will seek to save His marriage despite all the hurt, anguish and pain. Just like a frustrated husband, God expresses His hurt and anger towards His unfaithful bride but then lets her know that despite all His exasperation, He takes His marriage vows seriously and will work towards constructing a way of reconciliation and restoration, which was climaxed in Jesus death and resurrection “That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them..”
Infidelity in marriage is a terrible and hurtful thing. There is nothing wrong with feeling hurt and angry at such a discovery. Some pretend they don’t have them because Christianity says so, but that’s not it, ‘Unacknowledged emotions causes trouble! You don’t have to act on them but you have to acknowledge them. God acknowledged His feeling of frustration and anger but then He brought to mind His previous promise of commitment and proceeded to act – not on His feeling but on what He knew was right. That is a divine way! With God’s help it must be ours too! Whether married or single we are all Christ’s bride, for the married picture this decision and act accordingly towards your spouse, for the unmarried and all believers in Christ this is a check in our walk with Jesus who is our husband.

Remember Jesus how he reacted when His love was unreciprocated in Luke 19 vs 41 “As He approached and saw the city, He wept over it,saying, “If you knew this day what would bring peace — but now it is hidden from your eyes”and John 1vs 11 “He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him”But there is something that never fails and in Lamentation 3 verses 22-23 it says “Because of the LORD’s faithful love, we do not perish, for His mercies never end. 23 They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! Final!!! God’s Love is New Every Morning!! Receive that love today. God made you with the ability to choose, make the decision to do right even when it hurts.
